The Returners:
The Ramblers bring back key guys Des Watson (13pts 5rebs 3ast 39% 3pt), Miles Rubin (6pts 5reb 75% rim 21 Dreb% 14 blk%), Jayden Dawson (8pts 2reb 36% 3pt 3.3 stl%), Sheldon Edwards (6pts 2reb 39% 3pt 14.4 Dreb%), and Jalen Quinn (22 ast%).
The Offseason:
The Ramblers brought many new players in, and a good number of those players should have significant roles on the squad. The four notable freshmen they brought in are Seifeldin Hendawy (4-star Wing) from NBA Academy Africa/Egypt, Brayden Young from Cy Falls (TX), Daniil Glazkov (3-star SG) from IMG/Russia, and Jack Turner (3-star SG) from St. John Bosco (CA). The four transfers look to all have serious roles this season. Justin Moore (13pts 4rebs 4ast 25 ast%) from Drexel, Francis Nwaokorie (12pts 6rebs 65% rim 34% 3pt) from UC San Diego, Jalen DeLoach (4pts 3rebs 66% rim 19 Dreb%) from Georgia , and Kymany Houinsou (4pts 4rebs 2ast 3.5 blk%) from Washington State.
The Outlook:
Loyola finished as the first seed in the A10 Conference last year, and they look to keep that success going. To do that, they need some leaps from a couple of returning guards, such as Watson and Dawson, as well as trying to get Moore (who needs to take an efficiency leap) incorporated smoothly. Housinou and Hendawy should be legitimate potential contributors on the wing. Hendawy has the upside of being an impact wing from day one, but he will have to prove he can shoot it efficiently and/or play plus defense. I can see Nwaokorie and DeLoach taking up most of the PF minutes and Nwaokorie can play the 3 as well. Rubin will need take a leap, and his usage should take a jump. He lead the country in block percentage, had great finishing, and really good rebounding numbers. His role should be even bigger as they lost three of their top four scorers from a season ago. The Ramblers expect some leaps in efficiency and/or usage in a lot of their guys but they have some of the better talent in the A10. The team will be depth-driven as opposed to having a few high-end talents at the top of the roster.
